Production d'écrit collectif en CM2, comment faire?

Bonjour

Je souhaite faire participer mes élèves de CM2 (enfin ceux que j'ai en 1/4 temps :D ) à un concours sur le thème du roi Arthur, que nous étudions en ce moment au travers de la littérature jeunesse. Il s'agit d'écrire un texte collectif la consigne étant du tyme "continue ce récit".

Je n'ai jamais fait ce type d'exercice avec des CM (production collective) et je me demande comment y parvenir...

Proposer un premier jet individuel? un travail par groupes?

Si vous aviez des pistes pour me guider, ce serait formidable!
