This document is an article published in the newspaper "Newsweek International" on the seventh of march 2007. It was written by Carla Power who must be a journalist.

In the first place, the tittle is pretty short and pretty mysterious. In just reading it, i can't understand the subject of the article. It's to attract the reader. The word Queen is outstanding.

There is a subtitle which light up us some more. It is build with figures. That shows us the precision of the survey and in an other way the interest of this article.

The main theme is about the increasing number of non-native English-speakers learning this language.

The article is divided in three parts.

The first part takes place in India and describe the developpement of languages school in this country. The two first sentences are an original departure with some kind of humour. It creates a certain contrast between the real Cambridge and the school named in this passage (à vérifier). The apparition of these new schools is explained in the quote of Chetan Kumar. It makes us understand the importance to learn english to succed in life.

The second part begins in supposing the point of view of the professors of Cambridge on these schools. We don't really know what they think so it's not really professionnal for a journalist to make supposition like that. After that, the autor insits on the fact that the pronounciation of the english learn in there is not correct. In fact, it's a big industry to gain money. But, more than that, it's a real revolution which reinforce the position of leader that occupy the english language in the world. This party is concluded by the survey of the British Council.

Finally, the last part includes a quotation of David Crystal who is an expert on the subject. It's what was said in the subtitle. It indicates to us a phenomena entirely new and unique: a language more spoken by the non-native speaker of this language than by the native-speaker.

In my opinion, this text is well illustrated by some scientist etude but the free interpretation of the author on the opinion of the professor of Cambridge is a little illegimate.

As a teacher, the text may be a good constatation to illustrate to the pupil the importance of learning english.

Voilà, je ne développe pas plus les deux dernières parties mon avis et la transpo à l'école car ça risque de devenir chiant à lire.
