Je voudrais savoir comment traduire "l'école, c'était mieux avant". Ne vous inquiétez pas, je ne le pense pas!

Je pense à "School, it was better before", mais ça fait très traduction mot à mot... Alors pas sûr.

Pas de double sujet en anglais et le "before" est trop imprécis je trouve, il faudrait dire à quand remonte ce "before". Je dirais plutôt et simplement "school was better" (même s'il manque le "quand" tout de même).

Merci. "School was better", ok, mais il me manque une indication pour dire "dans le passé", "avant", "autrefois"...

Vi mais justement, je ne pense pas qu'un anglophone mette un simple "before" ou "in the past". School was better when I was a child, school was better in the 90s, school was better with Thatcher as a PM, etc.

Avec school was better, il manquait effectivement une indication de temps ! qu'as-tu mis finalement ?

J'aurais dit comme Odilederay : School used to be better (avec le used to on sait que c'était il y a un petit moment) - sinon les propositons "School was better when I was a child/a long time ago/ in the early 20th century" iraient aussi
