Paint est trop basique, des logiciels gratuits comme Photofiltre ou paint.net (voire the gimp) offrent de bien meilleures possibilités.

Plutôt qu'un long discours :

PS ; on peut sélectionner des zones non adjacentes en plusieurs fois en maintenant la touche MAJ (ou SHIFT) enfoncée.
