Northen Ireland is part of the United Kingdom. How to sum up its history???

Ireland was part of the United Kingdom of Great Britain until 1937.

Ulster is still part of the UK but there are many troubles in Northen Ireland with acts of terrorism.

Supplément en Français :

Entre 1916 et 1921 : Les tensions reprennent en Irlande. L’Angleterre attribue alors son autonomie à cette partie du Royaume-Uni qui finira par obtenir son indépendance en 1937 puis deviendra une république en 1949. Seule la région nord-est, l’Ulster, restera dans le Royaume-Uni… ce qui est encore source de tensions en ce début de XXIème siècle.

Le drapeau de l'Ulster est constitué de :

La croix de St George (= l'Angleterre) & la couronne (pour la fidélité au roi d'Angleterre) + la main des "Orangistes".
