cowgirl Posté(e) 5 mai 2005 Posté(e) 5 mai 2005 Hi! Have you already learnt some English songs for the exam? Last year, some had to sing two songs, like "Brother John" , "Kumbaya"..... , not any song, some you are supposed to sing in your English class......hum, hum, at least, it was like that in Lille.

What's that about songs? Are you trying to say that we HAVE TO know some songs for that english exam???? My gosh, never heard about that yet What about "it's raining men "
cowgirl Posté(e) 5 mai 2005 Auteur Posté(e) 5 mai 2005 Don't worry...... (be happy.....), nothing to be scared of. It did not happen to me last year, but to many in Lille... They had to sing.... You just can learn some short songs like Brother John and London's burning and that's ok I think, just in case.... I did not mean to scare you, I feel guilty now
tartinette Posté(e) 5 mai 2005 Posté(e) 5 mai 2005 If we must sing in english (even in French or in Chinese ...), I can' t go to have this exam : it's absolutely impossible for me : I sing like a spanish cow (Do the spanish cow sing well ?). I've never heard about it .
Byza31 Posté(e) 5 mai 2005 Posté(e) 5 mai 2005 If I sing, I am sure that the board of examiners will laugh at me! No matter... I don't take the exam in Lille! :P
cowgirl Posté(e) 5 mai 2005 Auteur Posté(e) 5 mai 2005 Well, I just tell you what happened last year, and the year before, in Lille.... for not all the juries (not for mine for example), but get ready for it.....you never know. I don't think it's that difficult since you can choose your song. And I think it was in connection with their didactic part. For example, I had something on halloween, so I spoke of "Winnie the witch".....but if you have something on Christmas.....I guess they can ask you to sing Jingle Bells or something.... I just wanted to share what the other students told me last year, while we were waiting... and what they said after the exam....
Byza31 Posté(e) 5 mai 2005 Posté(e) 5 mai 2005 It's very nice to you to inform ourselves about what we can be asked. And I think I will learn some songs, we never know. And if they ask me to sing, at least it will liven things up! :P
guillaume Posté(e) 5 mai 2005 Posté(e) 5 mai 2005 As you can imagine, i also have some MP3s of english songs for kids in my computer, if i am allowed to, i will post them on the forum...you see it's a lot of fun !!
zoubys Posté(e) 6 mai 2005 Posté(e) 6 mai 2005 Guillaume, MP3 aren't allowed on the forum.. especially if you've taken them from a p2p. I quote " Il est interdit de télécharger, afficher, transmettre par e-mail ou de toute autre manière tout contenu violant tout brevet, marque déposée, secret de fabrication, droit de propriété intellectuelle ou tout autre droit de propriété appartenant à autrui." Unless you're a music talent yourself :P
zorro2004 Posté(e) 6 mai 2005 Posté(e) 6 mai 2005 Good morning everybody ! Can I join your group ? So, let's make the introductions : My name is , I'm 35 and I'm taking the exam for the second time (even if I don't consider it as a second time as last year, I didn't really work on it, I only wanted to know what was expected from us). I used to work as a translator (English, Spanish and Russian) as I studied Economics, Law and International Trade related to foreign languages but at one moment, I chose to move into some new activity. I've been teaching English for 4 years (in secondary schools and high schools) and this year, beside that, I've started teaching English to children from a primary school, and I've enjoyed it. My father was born in New Zealand and one part of my family still lives there. This gave me lots of opportunities to practise English since I was a little girl. I'm not very proud of my feats during the written exams, thus, I'm not sure to be allowed to carry on with the adventure These are several links to English songs for children's sites : http://www.mamalisa.com/world/uk.html http://judyanddavid.com/cma.html http://www.niehs.nih.gov/kids/musicchild.htm And I recommend this site to you, to get informed about the news in English : http://www.e-anglais.com/ressources/index.html#journaux The movie I enjoyed a lot is the recent BBC version of "Pride and Prejudice" and I almost fell in love with Mr Darcy (Colin Firth) Looking forward to hearing from you xxx
zorro2004 Posté(e) 6 mai 2005 Posté(e) 6 mai 2005 A little song dealing with "the Days of the week", easy to remember. (On the tune of "frère jacques") : "These are all the days of the weeks Sing with me ! Sing with me ! Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday Saturday, I like to play" :P
