hello,

here is my summary for the text about cannabis :

The text we will talk about is named « mental problems soar among children using cannabis » and was published the 18th September by the Sunday Times.

It deals with the consequence of a law of april 2004 which concerns drug, especially cannabis.

In this article, we have 2 points of views which s’affrontent :

On one hand, a charity organisation, Addiction, says that the number of children treated for psychotic problems in relation with drug is increasing.

Moreover, the mental illness can achieve to schizophrenia.

They add to this that children use a higher variant of cannabis, the skunk.

On the other hand, the British government answers that a revue of the law will be made, alter results from a research. They want to be sure of the link between skunk and mental illness.

They propose however to upgrade the legal status of skunk.

For Addiction, it would be the minimum, because more and more children use skunk instead of cannabis, and become housebreaker and robber (due to higher price of skunk). And they come later for treatment.

no problem, milla, we actually stopped our chat by 10.30, but we were in a private chatroom "english saloon", to avoid to worry the other "chatters".

but we'll make it again.

for next week, we'll probably suggest a chat about an interwiew (vidéo).

but you still can propose a summary.

Thank you Bigotna for your message. :)

This is my summary for the previous text (Yes I know I'm still late ;) ):

This text is an article taken from BBC news and it is entitled "Techer crisis could hit Scotland". It dates back to the end of december 2004.

This article raises the problem of the teacher shortage in Scotland because of the high number of aged teacher.

The SSTA (Scottish Secondary Teachers' Association) is really worried about the lack of supply teachers. David Eaglesham who is the general secretary (how may I say: qui en est the general secretary) clamours for more teachers and argues that this situation is going to imperil the education of young people despite of the great efforts made by the teachers who are present.

The Scottish Executive spokesman is convinced that this problem does not exist. In his mind, the problem is not the teachers'numbers but the management of supplied teachers.

As a conclusion, I would say that we could have read this article in french newspapers because this problem is international...

Thank you for reading :)

Bigotna,

I'm working on the new text and I know that I was late for the second summary but can you (or someone else) answer to my question:

"The SSTA (Scottish Secondary Teachers' Association) is really worried about the lack of supply teachers. David Eaglesham who is the general secretary (how may I say: qui en est the general secretary) clamours for more teachers and argues that..."

It is, may be, gonna help me some other time :)

Thank you

For Affable, welcome :)
