Can we talk about english system education please ?

Because i go tomorow for the test and i think it is difficult for me !

I dont understand english system !

please help me to understand !

oh yes definitely, it's a good topic

so I BEGIN by saying the english system is different . There, school is compulsory from the age of 5, and there are 2 schools systems: public schools which are private schools (faith schools for instance), and state schools. There is a national curriculum. It's a very precise programm. In fact all Pupils study the the same thing at the same hour of the same day IN ALL THE SCHOOL OF THE COUNTRy.

Whan you are 5, you start primary school. In fact from the age for 5 To 8, it is called first school or infant school , and from 9 To 12, it is middle school.

Then, you go at secondary school until you are 18.

There are two examination: TCSE when you are 16? AND A LEVEL 5 IT MEANS ADVANCED level when ou are 18.

When english pupils want to enter university, to apply is not sufficiant. Each student have to apply in differents universities, and universities choose their students. There are conditions like the marks to a-level

The most you have marks, he most good universities accept you!

so I BEGIN by saying the english system is different . There, school is compulsory from the age of 5 to 16, and there are 2 schools systems: public schools which are private schools (very expensive) (faith schools ( yes religion is compulsory) for instance), and state schools (free for parents). There is a national curriculum. It's a very precise programm. In fact all Pupils study the same thing at the same hour of the same day IN ALL THE SCHOOL OF THE COUNTRy (because in the programme instructions you have all your preparations and it explains how teacher must teach, so everybody make the same work. However, during 25% of the time school, schools are permit to make their personal program).

Whan you are 5, you start primary school. In fact from the age for 5 To 8, it is called first school or infant school , and from 9 To 12, it is middle school.

Then, you go at secondary school until you are 18.

Nursery school are not common and are private so very expensive

There are two four examinations : 7, 11, 14(maths, english, sciences) and 16 year old (GCSE)

When english pupils want to enter university, to apply is not sufficiant. Each student have to apply in differents universities, and universities choose their students. There are conditions like the marks to a-level

The most you have marks, he most good universities accept you!

This system is a elitist system.

good work!

prepro spoken and music is a very strange test. No time to prepare your instrument or your voice....

50 minutes to speak.....

I don't know what they look for. What are their evaluation criterions ?

advice : calm, stay yourself, smile and take time before to answer.

I am against cigarets and "smokers" Me too, and I don't smoke. Why are you against cigarets and smokers?

I can't stand when someone smokes near me and when my hears smell cigarets

I respect people when if they are smokers ( I respect smokers)but I want smokers respect someone who dont smoke, for example, mostly, children !

I think that the french advertissement against cigarets and with the litlle girl is very good ! (tell me this ad because I haven't got television ...)

I think (that) school must learn at pupils what are the consequences when someone smoke. I remember me myself that when I was at primary school, my teachers has explained that.

It is in health education

And I am agree with the laws : Is is forbiden to smoke in public etablishment (and place)

It is to for someone who respect the others people

Even if that can be against individual liberties

There is locals specialy are some particular places for smokers

Personnally, I don't smoke and I Can't stand that people smoke in my car, or in my home.

However, when I am outside, Idon't mind

In france, there is a cigarets tax and smoking is very expensive (there are some tax cigarets and they are very expensive), I agree with that because smoking is very bad for health and maybe the price makes people to try to stop smoking. Personnaly, I Have friends, who stop smoking because they can't afford to buy some cigarets.

In addition, I would underline that when you wait a baby, you must stop smoking. Indeed, if you smoke, there are a lot of dangers for the baby, and it seems me quite important that people are aware of that. (try to explain why the cigaret is dangerous for baby.)

In france, we can notice that there are many places where you mustn't smoke and according to me, it is normal, and it is a good way to protect peopl who don't smoke, particurlaly children from the dangers of cigarets!

I add my opinion.

I've never smoke, but I can't say I'm against smockers, as everyone can make one's choice about one's health.

However, I expect some respect from smokers : no cigaret in my home, in my car, during the meal (meal at the restaurant with friends, family, ...), all the more so since I became allergic to smoke a few years ago (my eyes cry and become red).

When children begin to smoke (or try to smoke), it's often to do the same as their friends, their parents, their elder sister/brother, to be involved in a group, ... So it's important that school takes time for health education in order to explain the consequences of smoking, thus there would have be a prevention and a chance that there will be less children smoking.

I'm agree with tax and laws, but I think some aspects had been forgotten :

- there is a so high tax that tobacconists have to close their shops, and fraud is increasing in a disproportionate way. So, is it such a good solution ?

- in coffees or restaurants, there are too areas : smokers and no-smocking. But how many times in no-smocking area did you smell smoke, because there isn't a real division ? or since the no-smocking area is above the smokers' one (everyone know that smoke go up !!) ??

I can comprehend the mercants, some building works are expensive, but it's the law !!

Lastly, Graine de fée you said that when a woman wait for a baby, she musn't smoke.

I'm agree, but it's hard work to stop smoking, I saw my father a couple of years ago, and now my mother-in-law (she had not stop yet). Only my boyfriend stopped one day, and never smokes again, but it's a lot of mental work.

Trying to stop when you have lots of troubles isn't always a good thing (better for health but bad for mental health). In this case, it's better trying to convince this people to reduce progressively, and when they really are Ok, stop completely.

PS for blabliblo : the ad : you see a little girl in the different rooms of her house, and in each amounts of cigarets : 2,000 in the kitchen, 5,000 in the living-room and a voice off says : Since she lived there, Marie smoked x cigarets in the kitchen, Y in the bedroom, ... it's a pity when you know she's only 5 years old...

3-1 :P France won :P :P

What about terrorism ?
